Mr. Vanetik is responsible for leading and managing the Partnership’s strategic growth and financial policies. In this capacity, he oversees equity financing, joint ventures, raising and structuring capital, and strategic planning. Mr. Vanetik is also responsible for investor and lender relations, maintaining and building relationships with investors and business partners.
A principal of Vanetik International, LLC, Mr. Vanetik is a private investor and business strategist. He often advises boards and executives on capital formation, acquisitions and dispositions, and other strategic planning matters. Mr. Vanetik serves on numerous corporate and non-profit boards. He has also been an active investor in the real estate sector, having personally participated in several major real estate transactions domestically and overseas. These projects involved land acquisition and financing for master-planned communities, and investments in resorts in Asia and Eastern Europe.
In the past, Mr. Vanetik practiced corporate law with K&L Gates (formerly Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP) and later was a founding partner of Iger, Koehler & Vanetik, LLP, a law firm specializing in corporate governance, counseling boards of publicly traded companies and representing independent directors, and committees on which they serve. Generally, his legal practice and experience has centered on corporate finance.
Mr. Vanetik received his B.A. in Legal Studies (Political Science, History, and Philosophy) in 1991 from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and was valedictorian of his class. He is an executive graduate of the Anderson Business School at UCLA (Management) in 2001. Mr. Vanetik completed further graduate research at Oxford University, where he was a researcher in political philosophy. He earned his J.D. in 1998 from the University of California, Hastings, where he was the President of the International Law Society, and the recipient of the coveted American Jurisprudence Award.
Mr. Vanetik actively leads and supports philanthropic, civic, and political organizations. In 2008, Mr. Vanetik was selected as a Claremont Institute Lincoln Fellow. In 2006, Mr. Vanetik was appointed to the Homeland Security Council for Region I. In 2007, Mr. Vanetik became Trustee for the Kennedy Center National Symphony. In 2008, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Mr. Vanetik to serve on the California Criminal Justice Council, and in 2010, Governor Schwarzenegger appointed Mr. Vanetik to be the California Lottery Commission.
Mr. Vanetik serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Gen-Next, and the Gen-Next Foundation. He also serves on the Advisory board of UC Irvine’s Center for Unconventional Security Affairs (CUSA). He is also a board member of Miracles For Kids and the Center for Global Change. Through the Yuri Vanetik Foundation, Mr. Vanetik supports numerous charities, think tanks, and social and business initiatives. Many of his philanthropic projects focus on helping neglected and underprivileged children
